May, Where has the time gone?

Clam Beach, Trinidad CA,
May 14, 2010

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. It's not that we haven't done anything in the 2 1/2 months since I've posted. It's quite the opposite, maybe we have been way too busy. I don't know where to start. The gang is looking forward to school being out in 8 days and they are looking forward to our trip to Woodflock. We will be going camping with the great Antsy McClain and his loyal following of flamingoheads on Friday. We can't wait. There will be music, food, swimming (if it is warm enough go figure this weather in May), frisbee throwing, and campsite decorating contests. We have a lot of flamingo stuff and hope to give a very good showing in this category. Matthew calls him Antsy McClean. I hope Antsy and crew won't mind our gang on the trip. :)
Swim season has stated and we have found it difficult to fit in the practices with all the end of the school year festivities the gang has. Thomas has a had a fun baseball season and has learned many valuable baseball skills. Matthew has voice more than once how he wants to play baseball next year. Watch out world here he comes. He didn't make the swim team this year they thought he was too young. Oh, well maybe next year.
We made a trip up to Arcata to celebrate Brad's graduation from HSU and had a ball going to the beach, lounging and eating. There have been 3 birthdays here in the Hay House since I last posted. Thomas turned 10, Macie 11 and Julia 7. Henry will turn 3 in 13 days and then poor Matthew still has about 7 weeks until his birthday.
My Aunt Margene died on May 7, 2010 and we went to the funeral on May 17, 2010. She was 75 and in good health when she died. It has been a shock to everyone. The brother who spoke at her funeral and who dedicated the burial site reminded us to journal our thoughts and feelings about the day and Aunt Margene. I liked that idea. Of course haven't done it yet. I will say that it was very comforting having all our relatives together to celebrate her life. We all loved her and I even said a few words at her funeral. I have always thought how great it is to have Aunt Margene on your side. She never said anything disparaging about anyone. She always stuck by you even if you did something wrong. She saw the best in everyone. I said that I liked having her on my side.
Emily gratuadted from American River College and Matthew graduated from Head Start Pre-School. He is ready and raring to go to kindergarten. I pray for his teacher that she will love him and have patience with him. :)
The kids are all growing and becoming their own persons. It is fun to hear their ideas on things and listen to their opinions of things.
Macie and I walked in the Susan G. Komen Walk for Breast Cancer with Pa, Ali, and Emily. It was on May 8, 2010. We walked in celebration of Aunt Jacci and in honor of Grandma Bea Hay and my friend Lisa Escott.
Till next time! I hope it's not 2 1/2 more months before I update. :)
